University of Georgia tabs StatMonitr for 2013-14

ATHENS, GA. -- The University of Georgia and StatBroadcast Systems announced today that Georgia will use the StatMonitr media stats platform for its athletic events during the 2013-14 school year, beginning in August 2013.

The University of Georgia is a land grant, sea grant and space grant public research unviersity university located in Athens, Georgia, and is the flagship university of the state of Georgia. Founded in 1978 as the United State's first state-chartered university, it shares the title of oldest public university in the US with North Carolina-Chapel Hill and College of William and Mary. It is ranked 21st overall among all national public universities and has an enrollment of 34,476. The Georgia Bulldogs compete at the NCAA Division I level as members of hte Southeastern Conference in 19 varsity sports. The Georgia men's baseball team has won five SEC titles and appeared in the College World Series five times, most recently in 2008. The women's basketball team has made 28 NCAA tournament appearances, including three Final Fours and two national runner-up finishes; the men's basketball team have made nine NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the Final Four in 1983. The Bulldogs football team has been one of the most consistent programs in the country, boasting a .647 winning percentage and laying claim to two national championships, 14 conference championships, nine Sugar Bowl appearanes, three Cotton Bowl appearances, three Orange Bowl appearances, one appearance in the Rose Bowl, two Heisman trophy winners and two No. 1 NFL draft picks.

Georgia is the eighth member of the 14-member SEC conference to partner with StatBroadcast; the SEC conference also partners with StatBroadcast to provide its media stats platform annually for the conference's football championship, men's and women's basketball tournaments and baseball tournament.
